This well-aged rye is a testament to balance, with dessert sweetness and earthy spice present in nearly equal measure. Aromas of licorice, vanilla, caramel, and clove, plus apple pie round out the nose. The sip is straightforward with cherry cola, peanut butter, and milk chocolate dueling withcloves, gingerbread, and spiced oak. The finish has good length and hints at the whiskey’s age with oak tannins and leather in the foreground.
