The sweet, rounded component of Nikka from the Barrel uses both mature and young Coffey grain whisky from Miyagikyo, blended with a corn and rye grain whisky from Satsumatsukasa Distillery in Kyushu. Creamy vanilla, fresh coconut, cornbread, honey, lychee, white flowers, and fresh linen aromas. Those initial honey and corn aromas carry through on the palate along with tangy orange sherbet, almond, gingerbread, and toasted coconut, while water adds richness and darker syrupy tones.
