Octomore 5 year old (16.1 Edition), 59.3%

Octomore in its purest form, aged entirely in first-fill bourbon barrels with no wine cask finishing. Pineapple, lime, sweet malt, apricot, and vanilla on the nose. The palate is smooth, with vanilla cookies and lemon cake against well-integrated peat and charcoal. The finish has great length, with lime and pineapple returning. Powerful but controlled, clean, and pure, showing complexity and maturity well beyond its 5-year age statement.
