Two years after Overholt's proof was bumped up to 86, this backbar staple has been revamped once again, this time receiving an extra year in oak before bottling. It opens with classic rye spice, pine forest, and sweet mint on the nose. On the sip, it is unctuous and sweeter than the nose suggested, with rich hot cocoa and chocolate-covered cherries balanced by a pleasing spiciness.
