Old Potrero California Cellar Series No. 04 Almanac Beer Finished, 57.5%

This aged 6 years and 6 months in new charred oak before an 8-month finish in Old Potrero barrels that once aged Almanac Beer Co. imperial stout. Classic (and fantastic!) rye notes on the nose: there’s cinnamon spice and pickle juice, alongside rye bread. The palate is richly textured, hot, spicy, and crackling with black pepper, then char, vanilla, and chocolate doughnuts. On the finish, light rye spice lingers, with sweet cream and chocolate milk.
