Penelope Cigar Sessions (Chapter 1), 50.5%

Cigar whiskies typically focus on maturation and cask finishing, but Penelope’s take on the style instead involved a focus on blending—in this case, bourbon, American single malt, and light whiskey—and the help of cigar makers Cynn Coburn and Lee Marsh. The nose opens with inviting aromas of apple pie, caramel, and soft baking spice. Chocolate dreams come true on the palate, as chocolate mousse, cocoa powder, oak, and baking spice emerge. More of that rich chocolate on the finish, accented by raspberry, cooked cherries, and cinnamon spice. A true treat!
