An easygoing straight MGP rye with an odd mashbill of 93% rye and 7% malted barley, compared to the more common 95/5 recipe. The nose is reminiscent of a New York deli, with dill, spicy brown mustard, toasted rye bread, and brown sugar. Prickly spices, in the form of ground black pepper, cumin, coriander, and cinnamon applesauce, appear on the palate. It veers off in a sweeter direction on the finish, with ripe pear, white pepper, and churros.
