Lemon, smoked kippers, honey, lobster traps, aromatic peat smoke, newly tarred asphalt, and antiseptic soap rise from the glass. There’s balance, but the classic Islay smokiness is pleasingly generous. Smooth and silky texture with sweet lemon drops, honey throat lozenges, and peppery smoke, developing orange zest, mango sorbet, pears in vanilla cream, and a hint of aniseed. The finish remains sweet and mouth-coating with citrus peel and gentle spice.
