Redwood Empire Small Lot Series Van Duzen (Batch 001), 47%

Named for the Van Duzen River that runs through northern California’s redwood country, this one is made with a high share of malted barley at 31%, along with 67% rye and 2% wheat. Vanilla taffy and whipped cream on the nose, balanced by pleasant, soft oak. The palate is viscous and sweet, with cantaloupe, applesauce, marmalade, and pepper spice. The finish is smooth, with vanilla, honey sweetness, and chile pepper spice.
