The inaugural release from InchDairnie Distillery is made from 53% malted rye and 47% malted barley, and has a nose of black currant taffy, toffee, vanilla, and punchy spices. Flavors of golden syrup and black currant lozenges, the rye spiciness takes center stage, riding over the creamy vanilla, clove, and toffee notes. This is a big whisky with big textures, showing lashings of caramel and vanilla on the finish. Quite a debut.
