The newest widely available rye from Buffalo Trace offers a higher proof version of the brand’s flagship, and with that extra proof comes extra flavor. The nose is hearty, with cloves, raisins, mint, and dried herbs sparring with French toast and oranges. On the palate, vanilla and brown sugar are kept in balance by caramel corn and sweet mint tea. The finish is peppery and spicy, with excellent length. $30/liter
