Shelby Co. Peaky Blinders Irish Whiskey Oak Stave Finished, 45%

This homage to the “Peaky Blinders” television series was distilled by Kentucky’s Green River Distillery, but gets a European flair courtesy of an Irish whiskey oak stave finish. Red berries, vanilla, clove, cherry Danish, oak spice, and maple syrup greet the nose. On the palate, those notes snowball into yogurt raisins, jelly doughnut, baking spices, and powdered sugar. The finish is fruity, if a tad biting, but vanilla sweetness smooths it all out.
