Shizuoka United S, 50.5%

A nose of bitter lemon, overripe melon, grapefruit peel, peppercorn, golden syrup, and a touch of seasoned oak. Lighter bodied than other Shizuoka releases, this has lemon, sweet orange, hints of vanilla, then more citrus acidity and baking spice, settling with a finish of lemon shortbread and cookie dough. Perfectly pleasant, but just lacks the distinctive character and appeal of other Shizuoka releases.
