Sons of Vancouver Realms of Rye 100% Rye (Release 02), 59.9%

This is part of a series that showcases the flavors (beyond spice and pepper) that rye grain can elicit in whisky. The nose has telltale signs of bourbon barrel and new American oak maturation—brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon coffee cake waft from the glass. The palate is beautifully textured, and reminiscent of summer camp thanks to a heady rush of toasted marshmallow. Allspice, oak, and cooked raspberries linger on the long, drying finish.
