Our Spring 2026 issue is all about age. In certain corners of the whisky world, whiskies can reach great age—Scotland, where the traditional minimum age of whisky is 8 years old, is a shining example. Targeting longer aging cycles isn’t common everywhere, of course, and younger whiskeys have dominated in the U.S. for some time. The tide is changing, though; bourbons over the 10 year threshold are practically commonplace, and those that are older than 20 are also more visible than ever. Our cover story dives into the roots of ultra-aged American whiskey, and the names that are shaping the segment today. Elsewhere in the issue, we explore well-aged whiskies from Scotland, give blended scotch its flowers, and offer up an ideal weekend in Houston for the whisky-minded traveler, among other stories. And as always, we have scores of reviews—both of whisky and tequila—to parse out.
