TX Whiskey Experimental Series: Vino de Naranja Blend, 41.7%

Price: 40 Issue: Summer 2026 Reviewer: David Savona Category: Blended American Whiskey

Texas whiskey aged in barrels that once held Spanish orange wine? Experimental indeed. It’s considerably dark, with a wisp of cherry cough syrup on the nose. That cherry note extends to the flavor, joined by toasted corn and caramel apple. The finish is long and sweet, but not cloying, given its solid back- bone of wood. Water brings out char and a touch of menthol, along with tart notes of licorice. Not the most complex spirit, but one that’s quite pleasant.
