Matured for three decades in American oak casks, this carries a sweet smokiness and maritime air that befits an aged Talisker. White pear, Golden Delicious apple, ground black pepper, and a pleasant whiff of barbecued fish skin round off the nose. Smooth and slightly oily on the palate, with honey, nectarine, vanilla cream, candied orange, sweet oak, salt, and pepper, interwoven with little darts of smoke.
