Made with a mashbill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley in Templeton, Iowa. Sweet cornmeal on the nose, with winey aromas, licorice, and vanilla cream. Creamy on the palate and fairly soft, with balanced vanilla sweetness and spice, and undernotes of baked raspberry. A viscous mouthfeel shows excel- lent balance and a lovely deep sweetness. It almost doesn’t seem rye-like, with its flavors of fresh pastries, baked apricots, raspberries, and confectionary sugar.
