The inaugural release by the company behind The Cabrach Distillery. Blended by former Glenlivet master distiller Alan Winchester from four casks donated by four Speyside companies, this has a freshness on the nose, with dewy grass, daffodil blooms, honey, double cream poured over apple slices, light sherry notes, icing sugar, and sweet smoke. There’s classic Speyside character in abundance on the palate, with green apple, vanilla fudge, black pepper, malt, lemon peel, and mandarin, then a touch of smoked lemon and vanilla shortbread to finish.—JM
