Well-balanced aromas of cherry, mixed peel, and sultana, creamy butter frosting, zested orange, nutmeg, and black pepper, plus a well-integrated blanket of rich peat smoke. This is very drinkable at cask strength, but despite the promise of the nose, there was little trajectory in the development of flavor revolving around shredded peel in orange marmalade, dried apricot, dried fruit, and a touch of pepper.
