This complex New Zealand single malt has a nose offering vanilla-almond ice cream, fragrant wood, incense, and fruity notes of apricot, peach, Golden Delicious apple, mango, and pear. A smooth palate has those fruit notes showing, along with honeyed apple tart and white pepper, followed by a long sweet finish of honey, clementines, and crème brûlée. Thick and rich, like a great sauternes wine held in balance by spice and oak.
