Initial green herbal notes blow off, leaving vanilla, black cherry, raspberry, raisins in syrup, and prune, but overall, it feels a little delicate. On the palate, there’s dried peach, cocoa, raisin, baked apple, dried citrus, cola, dark chocolate, wood spices, and seasoned oak, with a little lift from the sherry. The finish is drying with seasoned oak, sealing the impression that it’s a venerable old single malt.
