This is Sliabh Liag Distillers’ smokiest blend to date, finished in virgin oak and imperial stout casks. The peat smoke is fragrant, powerful but never dominant, blowing over soft ripe pear, green apple, wood spice, creamy vanilla, and a hint of sherry fruit. The stout casks make all the difference to the flavors here; it’s a rich creamy whiskey, mixing caramel, orchard fruit, and vanilla with dark berries and chocolate notes.
