Tullibardine 12 year old Double Wood, 40%

Price: 45 Issue: Winter 2022 Reviewer: Shane English Category: Single Malt Scotch

On the nose, Tullibardine’s double-matured whisky is sweet and light, with candied fruits, sweet raisins, and cola, plus an undercurrent of richly aged oak. Time reveals greater depth to the fruit, with dried apricot and berry compote emerging alongside light anise, showing the influence of the secondary maturation in sherry casks. The palate shows maturity and the fruit flavors shine through backed by chocolate. The finish is elegant, bringing in oaky spice.
