Whiskey Del Bac Ode To Islay, 55%

Mesquite, rather than peat, is the smoke source for this Arizona whiskey, a limited, annual release made to mimic smoky Islay scotch. It has an alluring and somewhat sweet aroma, and Islay’s influence can be tasted in the smoky, salty flavors reminiscent of French burnt peanuts, but the spices and tannins clash a bit with some of the other flavors here. Water adds some balance.
