Whisky Auction Update February 3, 2023

Now that January has come to a close, we reveal the 20 highest single-bottle hammer prices achieved during the first month of 2023.

Whisky Auctioneer led the field with nine entries on January’s list, Whisky Hammer took five slots, and Grand Whisky Auction secured two of the top three places. The combined value of this month’s 20 bottles is $782,115. The list includes 15 bottles of single malt scotch, 7 of which were distilled at Macallan, plus 3 bottles of Japanese whisky, and 2 bottles of Irish whiskey.

Month by month, we’ll keep a tally of how many times an auction house scores a bottle on this list in our International Auction House League. There are 26 points available each month; each entry earns 1 point, with 1, 2, or 3 additional points awarded to the top three places. After 12 rounds, we’ll see who comes out on top.
