Jars of dark berry jam open on the nose, blackberry and raspberry at the fore. Sticking with breakfast, there are also glazed doughnuts and maple syrup on pancakes, as well as a drop of vanilla extract and a sprinkle of espresso powder. There are soft, sweet flavors on the palate as well, like milk chocolate and vanilla custard, but also an accompanying bright burst of red fruit and a dash of black pepper. Water coaxes that pepper out even more, but it’s married beautifully with vanilla sweetness.
