Ripe berries, red grapes, wood spice, spear- mint, candied nuts, dried mango, and bubble gum make for a complex yet inviting nose on this Arizona-made single malt, aged in French oak California wine barrels then finished in first-fill cognac casks. The palate packs a lot of hot baking spice alongside vanilla soft serve, milk chocolate, and faint berry. Char and dark chocolate come forth on the finish, which remains spiced and ultimately quite arresting.
