Now in its 12th annual release, this is not entirely new, but it is the first edition to which master distiller Owen Martin, formerly of Stranahan’s, lends his name. Following 5-9 years of initial aging, the selected barrels received a port finish. The impression left by the world’s most prestigious fortified wine is undeniable. Aromas of chocolate-covered cherries, sandalwood, and leather lead to a chewy caramel palate filled with sweet dried fruit and licorice. —Jeffery Lindenmuth
