The latest Woodford Reserve commemorative Kentucky Derby bottle is here. Each year since 1999, the distillery—a presenting sponsor of the Derby since 2018—has released a special Derby bottle that contains classic Woodford bourbon on the inside but features new and notable artwork on the label. May 4th marks the 150th Kentucky Derby, and for the auspicious occasion, Woodford tapped Kentucky-born-and-bred artist Wylie Caudill to handle this year’s label design.
The 2024 Derby Bottle features Caudill’s signature painting “Adorned in Roses,” in which a red-hued thoroughbred racehorse is covered with red roses and set upon a background of multicolored roses. In addition to the bottle, Caudill’s artwork is also the Official Art of the Kentucky Derby for Churchill Downs this year, marking the first year that both Woodford and Churchill Downs used the same artist for the big race.
If you’d like to add the latest Derby Bottle to your collection, it’s available now for pre-order on ReserveBar, for $55 for a 1-liter bottle. Orders are expected to start shipping out at the end of the month; those who want their hands on it a little earlier will have to travel to the Versailles, Kentucky distillery, where it’s on sale now.
