Whisky Watch: Elijah Craig's PGA Bottling, New Smoke From Isle of Skye, Woody Creek's Latest
April 17, 2026 –––––– Julia Higgins
It's a lighter week for new releases, with just a few new American whiskeys and a smoky blended scotch. Among the Americans, Heaven Hill has the latest edition of its PGA Championship bottling, Round Barn has kicked off a new series with a barrel strength bourbon, and Woody Creek is back with the third iteration of its William H. Macy Reserve rye. From Scotland, Ian Macleod Distillers has added an Isle of Skye blend to the mix. Also announced this week was a whiskey that'll be a bit harder to find than the aforementioned: Eagle Rare 30, Buffalo Trace's oldest bourbon yet.
Elijah Craig 108 Proof 2026 PGA Championship Commemorative Edition Small Batch Bourbon
ABV: 54%
SRP: $37
Availability: Limited
Heaven Hill is highlighting its long-running Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) partnership with a new release of the PGA Championship Commemorative Edition bourbon. This year’s iteration is made from barrels pulled from the distillery’s N and S rickhouses. In honor of the championship’s 108th year, the bourbon was bottled at 108 proof. As with previous editions, the bottle has specific nods to the PGA, among them a signature gold coin cork bearing the official logo of Aronimink Golf Club—where this year’s championship will be held—and a special label.
We reviewed a PGA bottling in the past, and at just $37, it packed a whole lot of flavor in—here’s hoping this year’s is a repeat winner.

Round Barn Distiller’s Series Select Lighthouse Series Watchman Barrel Strength Bourbon
ABV: 58%
SRP: $100
Availability: Limited
Michigan-based Round Barn Distillery has launched a new collection, the Lighthouse Series, starting with Watchman, a barrel strength 8 year old bourbon. Inspired by the picturesque lighthouses that dot Lake Michigan’s shoreline, the series will feature four bourbons to be released this year. The mashbill is composed of 60% corn, 36% rye, and 4% malted barley, a jump in rye from 70% locally sourced corn, 15% rye, and 15% malt. It’s also the label’s oldest whiskey to date.
The Lighthouse Series joins Round Barn’s Baroda bourbon and Berrien Ridge whiskey alongside its rum, gin, and canned cocktails. Round Barn Distillery was originally a boutique winery that has since expanded to include a craft brewery and, since 1992, a distillery, debuting its first whiskey, Baroda Straight bourbon (previously called Divine bourbon) in 2010. For those in and around Michigan, there’s a chance to purchase a bottle at a launch party at the distillery’s Bourbon Barn restaurant tomorrow, April 18th. There are also tastings at the Round Barn visitor facilities.
