Speeding cars and spirits don’t mix. Unless you’re driving first, then drinking later. But there’s no dearth of luxury automakers who love whiskey. Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey is a sponsor of McLaren’s Formula 1 team, and as a result of that partnership, the iconic brands have teamed up for a 2024 limited-edition release.

The whiskey inside McLaren Racing Limited Edition isn’t any different than regular Jack Daniel’s. It’s the same classic mashbill of 80% corn, 12% malted barley, and 8% rye, distilled in Lynchburg, then mellowed by dripping down through 10 feet of charcoal. What’s unique is the design of the packaging.

On the bottle neck wrapper, the iconic McLaren “swoosh” logo is visible. It’s called a Speedy Kiwi, and its origins trace back to founder Bruce McLaren’s childhood in New Zealand, where kiwi birds are indigenous. The original logo, which was more bird-like, was festooned on McLaren’s personal F1 cars back in the early 60s, and over the years evolved to look more speedy, leading to the current logo.

That orange hue on the box and label is called Papaya Orange, which is McLaren’s racing color. It’s also been around since the mid-60s and has become synonymous with the supercar brand.

The McLaren Racing Limited Edition from Jack Daniel’s is available in 1-liter bottles in select markets across the U.S., and in 700 ml bottles in Formula 1 race cities across the globe. The distillery is mum about available amounts, but prior McLaren Racing limited releases were reportedly about 2,000 cases, globally.
